GoVision Takes Gov. Perry Inauguration to Big LED Video Screen
Austin, Texas – GoVision, the only provider of stadium-sized, mobile event video screens based in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex, will put the swearing-in of Governor Rick Perry of Texas on the big screen. The company’s Go Big 1, a mobile unit featuring a 16 foot by 9 foot LED screen and complete control room will be part of the ceremony, broadcasting the inauguration and post-entertainment to the expected 12,000 attendees.
Perry’s inauguration is set to take place January 21 at the foot of the steps to the Texas Capital Building. GoVision will have Go Big set up near the stage, providing a perfect, larger-than-life view of the swearing-in to all of the attendees. The entire ceremony will be shown live on Go Big’s screen, raised to 15 feet, using cameras connected through Go Big’s internal control room.
Immediately following the swearing-in, the attendees will be entertained by the award-winning band Sister Morales, while dining on traditional Texas barbecue. GoVision will continue broadcasting the entertainment for the diners with a simple turn of the screen on Go Big and continued live camera feeds.
The 800 foot gap between the two stages for the swearing-in and Sister Morales was bridged quite easily with a distribution amp, which GoVision is using to boost the strength of the signal over the long cable. This will allow them to continue to provide seamless coverage of the inauguration events.
The inauguration activities will be overseen by two GoVision technicians. Go Big is a valuable event tool as it only takes about 45 minutes to set up, and its onboard generator will provide the power needed for the event: 208 volts, 3 phases and 90 amps per leg.
Perry was sworn in as Texas’ 47th governor on December 21, 2000. He was elected to a four-year term on November 5, 2002.
