GoVision Opens New Headquarters with LED Overload
More than 350 guests treated to music, football on seven giant screens
ARGYLE, TX (September 16) – GoVision has provided massive LED screens for some of the world’s biggest events, from Presidential inaugurations to NCAA Final Fours. So they can be forgiven for overdoing it a bit when they hosted more than 350 people for a Grand Opening celebration at their new headquarters in Argyle.
The event was presented by Daktronics, the world’s leading provider for full-color LED video systems. GoVision (www.jumbo.tv) boasts the world’s largest inventory of Daktronics PST-12HD equipment.
Virtually all of that equipment – including “GoBigger,” the world’s first and largest truly high-definition mobile video screen – was on display inside and outside of GoVision’s headquarters. The biggest screens provided larger-than-life views of the Bird Dogs – a local cover band fronted by popular sports radio personality George Dunham – which entertained the revelers as they dined on a Texas-sized barbeque buffet. The band was a fitting warm-up act for the Sunday night clash between the Dallas Cowboys and Washington Redskins, which was carried on “GoBigger” and twin “GoBig” units.
Also featured prominently was a demo of Daktronics’ new PST-6i-b high-resolution 6-mm display, which boasts a strikingly black display face for sharp images. The fanless, noise-free display is ideal for premier indoor events. Additional screens ran promotional footage featuring GoVision, Daktronics and other companies that supported the festivities.
Though the company moved into its 50,000 square foot warehouse and office space in February, the transition to the new facility and a packed schedule left little time for partying.
Eventually, GoVision CEO Chris Curtis decided to clear the calendar for Sunday, Sept. 12, to officially mark the company’s important milestone, as well as to thank the customers, vendors, partners, employees and family members who have contributed to GoVision’s success since its founding in 2002.
“We’ve been blessed with so much for so long, it was important to me to recognize the people who have been so instrumental in getting us where we are today,” said Curtis. “We’re pleased that so many friends and colleagues showed up to celebrate with us. It’s humbling, really.” GoVision’s Grand Opening was also attended by several local government officials, media members, university and professional sports executives, and representatives of the audio/video and event industries.
“The Cowboys could have ended the evening on a higher note, but other than that, it was a wonderful event,” said Joni Diekmann, Daktronics’ director of Mobile & Modular Marketing, who traveled from South Dakota for the soiree. “GoVision takes great pride in providing the best for their customers and we are honored to have them as a longstanding Daktronics rental partner. We are fortunate to have built a strong relationship with the GoVision team over the years, and wish them many more years of great success.”
