From the Major League Baseball Playoffs to the world's most prestigious event in thoroughbred racing, GoVision was constantly
on the move this fall. These October highlights showcase GoVision's flexibility in servicing a multitude of
events including concerts, sporting events,
corporate events, fundraisers and even live television.
As a gift to their employees, AMD hosted a concert featuring the Los
Lonely Boys at the Backyard in Austin. GoVision provided live video
for this special event.
GoVison played a part in the biggest sporting events in the Lone Star State,
including the historic playoff push of Roger Clements and the Houston Astros.
At the Red River Shootout, GoVision was involved with the Texas vs OU tailgate at
the West End in Dallas, as well as outside the Cotton Bowl for Dodge on game day.
At the Ride for the Roses, GoVision was on location in Austin for the
special charity race that raised more than $6 million for the
Lance Armstrong Foundation programs and grants. More than 8,000 donors,
volunteers and survivors from around the world painted the town yellow
during this special weekend which included a Sheryl Crow performance and
numerous celebrities such as Will Ferrell.
Other fundraising events included the Race for the Cure in Little Rock,
the sixth largest in the nation.
While at a celebration of the
Susan G. Komen Foundation's work for breast cancer at Dallas City Hall,
GoVision provided a background screen for ABC and their popular TV show, The View,
which was doing a live taping. ABC used GoVision's D10 tiles as a part of their
set and decoration, and the screen was used to showcase graphics as well as the
show's special guests. A picture of this screen and set was prominently
shown on the front page of the Dallas Morning News the next day accompanying
a feature article.
"The screen was amazing and everyone was very impressed," said the show's producer, Linda Finson of
ABC Daytime Television.
"Your guys were very good and very professional. It was a pleasure to do business
with you and hope we can work together again soon."
Later in the month, two GoVision technicians made the Dallas Morning
News front page while photographed
running across the track at the Breeder's Cup. GoVision was
the screen vendor for this World Series of Horse Racing, which capped
off the memorable October. Seven mobile
and stationary screens were spread out strategically
around the track to display the event, with the
company's newest unit, GoBigger, being the centerpiece.
